Subtractive Approach
The subtractive approach was harder for me because I kept messing up the squares. It was hard to figure out which squares to push out, and how to make a void inside while still doing something with leftover squares all around the outer edges.

I felt that the additive approach was much easier. I had more control over the 8' x 8' cubes, and I could manipulate them more. I had more fun with this style.
